Gaither jumped out early against top-ranked Jesuit, Jackson Mirza led off the game with a double, took third on a wild pitch and scored the eventual game winner on a David Pina sac fly. Ryder Warriner made a Jesuit error hurt driving in a pair with a single to left. From there Cowboys senior Anthony Linares went to work, pitching into the sixth inning before a one-out hit. Linares left with eight strikeouts. And Mirza rewarded that effort shutout down the Tigers the rest of the way, issuing one walk while recording five outs – all by strikeout. Albert Antinori went 2-for-3 in the win, with a double, two RBI and a run scored; Pina was 2-for-2 with a double, walk and scored twice; Angel Hernandez was 2-for-4, with an RBI; and Ryan Deak had an RBI sac fly.
