Cowboys came into Thursday night’s game against a very hot King team with a bad taste in their mouths after dropping a home district game to the Leto Falcons. They were quick to turn things around as they snapped the King Lions’ 11-game winning streak winning 4-2 which brought the Cowboys’ overall record to 6-4 and 2-1 in district play. It was another incredible performance from the Freshman RHP Austin Grause as he went 6 2/3 innings striking out 9 and helping his own cause with a RBI at the plate. Freshman OF Willie Jackson came up clutch once again with a go ahead RBI single in the top of the 4th inning. Gaither has a quick turn around as they take on East Bay Saturday morning at Frank Permuy Park with a 10am start time which is game 1 of a 4 game home stand. The following week, the Cowboys will have back to back district home games as the Chamberlain Chiefs (Wednesday) and the Hillsborough (Thursday) Terriers visit Gaither.
